Technologies & Applications
About 3A & other image processing technologies

Auto ExposureAuto White Balance and Auto Focus are collectively called 3A.

It is a set of technologies including Exposure, White Balance and Focus- these three functions being able to perform automatically / intelligently without manual intervention.

3A has long been known as the most challenging technologies in the digital imaging world.

3A technologies are not usually intercompatible to each other even between similar camera products. Completely different algorithms will have to be re-designed and re-developed all over again accordingly to different sensors and Lenses used.

In another word, it`s safe to say that without solid know-how, it would be extremely challenging to develop 3A technologies what`s more it sure takes tremendously solid know-how to ensure successful & good quality ones.

Being good or poor 3A technologies decide the luminance and color performance of image quality.

 AWB-Auto White Balance
Either light source is natural or artificial (LED, florescent etc.) or a mixture of different light levels and intensities, Auto white balance function is able to perform color compensation according to light source changes in order to achieve accurate and natural color reproduction.

 AE-Auto Exposure
Even in the most difficult lighting conditions, AE technologies are able to effectively prevent

clipped whites or clipped blacks caused by overly bright (outdoors of bright days) or dark (indoors or outdoors during the night) light sources in order to achieve better image quality with greater amount of image details as usually do in normal conditions.

In addition, AE technologies are able to intelligently adjust to lower or higher levels of the brightness of high-contrast areas that may be caused by WDR sometimes.

 AF-Auto Focus
Autofocus accuracy is important because the more accurate it is, the higher the opportunity it is to avoid the misfocus (AF misalignment) of the subject of the interest in order to avoid loss of image details and blurry images.

Additionally, good AF algorithms enable to achieve good balance between accuracy & rapid refocusing to capture the subject of interest rapidly yet accurately enough to ensure clearer image quality.

 Image Stabilizer

To reduce blurring associated with camera motions during exposure, caused by camera motions (camera pan, tilt etc.), environment disturbs (wind, fog etc.) or machinery vibrations (train, airplane etc.) due to scene movements.

 Defog / Fog penetration
The technology helps to improve visibility through improving contrast of foggy images caused by bad weathers such as fog, haze and dust etc. which would lead to clearer images and more effective surveillance.

 Color Restoration

1/1 sec slow shutter, Digital Zoom, PIP, and Motion Detection etc.

The 1/1 sec Slow Shutter would be particularly suitable for monitoring sites at nighttime or dark locations.

Digital Zoom and PIP technologies enable a more intuitive and user-friendly control of the device by enabling to magnify the ROI (region of interest), allowing users to see a global view & the ROI (Region of interest) simultaneously.

Motion Detection enables to detect movements, mark /track the object that caused the event. The technology plays an increasingly important role in intelligent monitoring and surveillance apllications.
